Using numerology to better understand the pandemic
One of my spiritual teachers sent me a copy of a handwritten note she received recently. She sometimes asks me to use my expertise in numerology to interpret messages that arrive in the form of numbers. The interpretation on the note suggests the total of “666” is evil and therefore we shouldn’t get inoculated once a COVID vaccine becomes available. That is not how I interpret the message of the numbers.
First of all, it’s important to understand how numerology works and how we calculate numbers to discover the meaning of a name. There is a simple code used to assign a number value to each letter. For example, A equals 1; B equals 2; C equals 3 and so on, ending with Z equaling 26. When you add all the numbers designated to the letters in the name COVID together, the sum is 66. But, from a numerological perspective, this calculation is incomplete. To access the specific meaning of the name, we need to reduce the sum of “66” to a single digit.
Here’s how: Add 6+6=12; 1+2=3. Now we can see what the number reveals about COVID.
From a broader sense, the number 3 is interpreted as “communication.” Oftentimes communication—or messages–can be applied on many levels. For instance, what have you learned personally from your experiences during the pandemic? Did you discover your strength? Your compassion? Your patience? Your perseverance? What have we learned as a society, a nation, a world community? Have we learned we’re all connected and that what happens to one person affects those around him or her? Have we learned that the health of our planet is critically important? Have we finally recognized that our actions have consequences?
Now, let’s examine how the number 3 ties to COVID from a metaphysical perspective.
No matter whether we’re working with the name of a person, a company, or (in this unusual case) a pandemic, the energy of the name is called the “Expression Number”.
It’s probably most easily understood when we look at the Expression Number of a person. The Expression Number indicates the talents and abilities we brought with us into this lifetime to help us along our life path.
The Expression Number 3 means finding your way to joyful self-expression—through a talent in writing, speaking, singing, acting, teaching, painting. You’ll notice that all these endeavors express through CREATIVE IMAGINATION.
The Universal Law of Attraction states your thoughts become things. Put another way, what we imagine is what we create in our life. The number 3 attached to the name COVID indicates that metaphysically, we called COVID into being. And all dis-ease begins and ends in the imagination or thought of the person/culture/society/world.
The Oxford Dictionary defines psychosomatic as “(all) in the mind, psychological, irrational, stress-related, stress-induced, subjective, subconscious, unconscious.”
All illness is psychosomatic.
Louise Hay brilliantly writes about this in her book, You Can Heal Your Life. Ms. Hay boils down all physical problems to a lack of self-love. Professionals who help people with illnesses of mental thought would probably agree that it’s difficult to love others until you love yourself. Hay explains that all disease is brought about by mental patterns, and there are really only two mental patterns—fear and anger. One, the other, or both fear and anger run rampant in our world—certainly now, but even before the pandemic. It’s very easy to see how anger and fear have contributed to the turmoil in our world.
In her book, Ms. Hay includes a list of diseases and the probable cause for each one. Of course, COVID is not there, but she states the cause for viral infection is, “Lack of joy flowing through life. Bitterness.” And Ms. Hay doesn’t leave us hanging; she also lists an affirmation we can use to help us heal ourselves. For viruses, the affirmation is
“I lovingly allow joy to flow freely through my life. I love me.”
As a numerologist, I believe the most important message carried in COVID’s Expression Number 3 is that we’re all finding our way to joyful self-expression.
When I look around, I am SO encouraged by the demonstrations of support, gratitude, and love. I see it in conversations, YouTube videos, Facebook posts, daily actions, and the media that puts focus on “good news”.
Our expression of love and gratitude is working to eliminate the illness and I believe it won’t be long until fear subsides and we take this new-found joy and awareness into our personal and collective lives.
